About

Furals
Who We Are
Furals is a unique creative enterprise combining professional education expertise with hands-on craft experiences for families and communities across Victoria. Operating as both Furals Workshops and Furals Art, we bring sustainable, engaging, and educational activities to agricultural shows, community events, libraries, and educational settings throughout regional Victoria.
Based in Brown Hill, Ballarat, in Victoria’s Central Highlands, Furals bridges the gap between formal education and community creativity, making quality hands-on learning accessible to children and families across the state.
What We Do
Mobile Workshop Experiences
Furals operates a mobile craft workshop business, bringing hands-on building and painting activities directly to communities. We’re regular fixtures at agricultural shows and community events throughout Victoria, providing memorable creative experiences that combine storytelling, art, and sustainable craftsmanship.
Sustainable Craft Design
All our workshop pieces are designed and crafted with sustainability at the core:
- CNC-carved wooden pieces using eco-certified Victorian timber
- Solar-powered production in our Central Highlands facility
- Locally sourced materials supporting Victorian suppliers
- Child-safe, eco-friendly paints and materials
- Designs celebrating Australian stories and wildlife
Educational Foundation
With over 20 years of STEM teaching experience and expertise in early childhood education, Furals workshops are grounded in educational best practice. Our activities are designed to develop:
- Fine motor skills through hands-on crafting
- Creative expression and artistic confidence
- Problem-solving and basic construction skills
- Connection to Australian stories and heritage
- Environmental awareness and sustainability values
Our Workshop Collection
We offer story-inspired workshops for ages 2-8, featuring beloved Australian and international children’s books. Each workshop combines interactive storytelling with painting and crafting sustainably-made wooden characters and scenes that children take home.
Featured themes include:
- Australian wildlife and stories (Wombat Stew, The Magic Beach, My Dog Bigsy)
- Classic children’s tales (Dear Zoo, Rosie’s Walk)
- Adventure and exploration (Where the Wild Boats Are, STOMP! Dinosaurs)
- Early learning (Chooky Chicks for ages 2-5)
