“Folklore” Feature Garden: From Workshop to World Stage

Furals Art collaborated with landscape designer Majda Karmiczczak of FMK Gardens to bring the award-nominated “Folklore” feature garden to life at the 2025 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. This stunning mini stage showcased the fusion of traditional Polish folk art with contemporary Australian garden design, celebrating cultural heritage through intricate craftsmanship.

The preparation process was extensive and meticulous. In the Furals Art workshop, massive CNC-carved wooden panels were precision-cut featuring elaborate folk art patterns inspired by traditional Wycinanki (Polish paper cutting). The centerpiece backdrop displayed intricate floral motifs with blooms, and botanical flourishes carved from sustainable timber. Complementing this were hand-painted decorative elements in vibrant pinks, yellows, greens, and blues – colours synonymous with Polish folk traditions. Modular arch-shaped display units with geometric shelving were constructed, along with delicate lacework panels that added layers of visual interest.
